CasualObserver 3,408 #2 Posted March 3, 2010 Looks like you're copying the wrong line from photobucket... you need to copy the IMG line. You may have to change your account settings to show that line. Keep at it... once you get the hang of it, it will become second nature. B)

rmaynard 15,425 #4 Posted March 3, 2010 Copy each one of these lines, one at a time. Click the IMG button and paste the line in the box. Make sure that you don't have the HTTP:// twice. Repeat the procedure for the next picture, etc. http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy96/oa...ractors1003.jpg http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy96/oa...ractors1002.jpg http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy96/oa...ractors1001.jpg Bob

rusted and busted 0 #7 Posted March 3, 2010 ok guys im having a hard time with this, lol. any way the motor sits under the steering wheel,i pulled part of serial number off transmission,it is F17-0. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP,I WILL FIGURE THIS OUT SOONER OR LATER
Rollerman 290 #8 Posted March 3, 2010 It's a 1961 401 or 551. 61's were the only year to have the push pull throttle/choke on either side of the steering shaft. Even though the cable are missing, you can see the remaining holes where they were. (1960's used a pair of levers mounted behind the steering shaft.) I also can't see well enough into the frame under the hood if it was set up for the battery mount for a 551. Did good on the pics. It seems like a lot of work at first, but once you get it down it's easy. One tip I'll add....put a space between the (IMG) codes when adding pics. This prevents the page your posting on from going wide & keeps everything in on top of one another so you don't have to scroll the page back & forth to view the pics. bell 11 #9 Posted March 3, 2010 It is a 1961 401. The 551 used a "regular" unidrive transmission.

formariz 11,987 #11 Posted March 3, 2010 Interesting heat shield.I have been seriously thinking about doing something similar. When using tractor for quite some time such as plowing the heat from the engine is blown right to ones right leg.I have to get off it and let my leg cool. Its more of a leg burner than a nut roaster. tgranthamfd 29 #13 Posted March 4, 2010 It is a 1961 401. The 551 used a "regular" unidrive transmission. I say 401, as well. You can almost see the bottom of the "firewall" hood support below the exhaust shield.
