What tractor is this?

I found this on craigslist and was hopeing someone could tell me the year and model of the tractor. I talked to the owner and he has no idea. Also is it worth what he is asking? Thanks for any help you can give. Here is a link, I hope it works.

Any idea how old, and if it is worth the money? I'm not real familar yet, just got my first wheel horse a few weeks ago. Already tore it down and rebuilt the motor, and getting ready for the paint on the rest of the tractor.

I would guess it is a 1277 as well. A 1277 is a 1967 model with hydrostatic transmission and manual lift. The wood grain decal on the side is a good indicator.

Many will tell you on here it is worth it if you are willing to pay for it. If you haven't seen it or even tested it out yet it is really hard to say.

I have one just like it for sale in the classifieds.

Test it out and see what you think. Listen for any of the unusual engine noises and then let the hydro warm up and try and drive it up a hill or put some sort of load on it and see if it loses power.

It also looks as though it may be losing some tranny fluid right in front of the back tires in the picture.

than go for it. It looks to be in good condition other than the oil

slick on the floor.

Thanks for all the input, it may be hard to test drive it if it needs a fuel pump and wiring. LOL But i think I'll go look at it anyway. I'm looking for one that I can put a loader and has hyrdaulics.

Good luck with it and let us know how it turns out. And Marshall is right look under the dash and you should hopefully find the model and serial number. Should have a T 1277 for the model if it is in fact a 1277.

I would take a small fuel tank with me and hook it directly to the carburetor... Hold it above the carb or strap it to the hood and, atleast, see how it runs. Good luck!

Should be a 68 or 69 Charger 12, not a 1277. The 1277 says "1277" right on the hood decals and the script was different. That does not say 1277. See this picture of Scott's from his for sale ad for example.... I'd also guess it's more likely a 69 because it looks like it has the large fuel tank stand, but the picture isn't good enough to be certain.

Good point. They could have been removed or swapped out though... some attachments didn't work with the running boards (like older blades and the midmount PTO unit) or the hood/decals could have been replaced. The starter/alternator engine and the large fuel tank tray that I think I see in the picture would point toward 69 though. The ID tag is the only way to be certain.

i totally agree and with parts swapping on these tractors its always best to go by the id tag
