Really hard to tell from the picture. Is there by any chance a model/serial number tag located in front of the shifter underneath the dash? Will have to squat down to see it. If there is and you can get the numbers off of there it will be easy to let you know what you have.

Glad you found the forum............many helpful and knowledgeable people here. B)

It's a 1963 or 1964, but again... it would be easier to tell with more pics.

It is for sure a 63 or 64 tractor post the engine size and brand that will help, the Id tag on this model will not help much, it will only have the serial no. no model no. the drive belt guard should have 3 numbers in that squared stamping look to see if you can make them out it would have been a decal.

Looks to be in pretty good shape I would not modify it in a way that can't be returned to stock.

Well from the new pics you added I'm going with a 633 that is a pull start 6hp 1963 but that is not cut in stone, it may have been modified over the years.

Looks to be a '63.

Also looks like it may have had a replacement hood put on it. Notice that there aren't any indentions where the side "horse head" decals go...

As Kelly said, '63 or '64. The step out on front of frame and two piece fuel tank were only used in those years of round hoods.

Look at the guard closely to see if there is still a decal under the top coat of newer paint. The bad news is someone painted over the original decal. The good news is they most likely used a cheap enamel spray paint. If there is still a decal under that cheap spray paint you MAY be able to remove the paint without damaging the decal lettering and the model number can still be read. I've had very good luck doing this with carb cleaner. Spray just enough cleaner on the surface to dampen it and let it dry without rubbing it. The cleaner should wrinkle the spray paint and cause it to pull away from the surface. After this dries it becomes brittle enough to flake off under light brushing. It may take a couple or more tries, but should work. The trick is in spraying ONLY enough carb cleaner on it to cause the surface coat to wrinkle, and then DON'T touch it until it's dry.

I also agree that it shouldn't be altered in any way that can't be easily returned to stock. These old round hoods are getting more and more rare.
