It has not been running for almost 5 years.What kind of things should I look for with the hydrostat drive to check it out if the tractor isn't running. Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #2 Posted February 20, 2010 Pull the dipstick first and see what the fluid looks like. Its either ATF which is red or 10w-30 motor oil. Make sure it looks clean with no signs of water. If the bottom of the dipstick is rusty it might of had water issues in the past. Then get under the tractor and check for leaks and cracks (or welding marks from past cracks ). Look at the axles where they leave the tranny case for leaks as well as any up/down play which might mean the axle bearings are bad. Good luck. Mike..........
