Dutch Horse Fan 0 #1 Posted February 14, 2010 Hi there a little note from Holland , The netherlands that is. Today i came across a wheelhorse with a diesel engine. It was a yanmar . Does anyone know how many of these were build and how much they cost new? It was a 500 series. the number i could see. i thought it was pretty interesting since gas prices here are about $8,50 a gallon en diesel about $5,60 a gallon. I didnt see any pictures or talk about Diesels on Red Square. Makes me wonder! Diederik

TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #3 Posted February 14, 2010 The only factory-built classic style Wheel Horse diesel that I am aware of is the 1986 512-D. They were equipped with a Robin single-cylinder electric-start air-cooled diesel and had 8 speed gear-drive transaxles. They are more similar to the 300 series tractors as far as the chassis and body. Here's a picture I saved from eBay a few years ago: Model number would either be B1-12R801 or C1-12R801
