buckeye 5 #1 Posted February 13, 2010 hello guys, new member-first post. about to buy my 2nd one. going to look at a 312-8 this afternoon. the guy says its in the nintey's but not sure. i looked at the picture gallery and i think i can roughly identify the year by looks. my question is(where are the i.d. tags on a 312 thats in its nintey's? ) hopefully it doesn't say "toro" on the hood, then i know it is pre 1990 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #2 Posted February 13, 2010 The ID tag is on the rear fender kinda under or next to the seat mount. Its usually all faded and unreadable . bmuone 15 #6 Posted February 13, 2010 Hello Buckeye.....I would say when you go to look at this tractor take a camera if you can and for sure a pencil and paper. Write down every number you can find. I mean EVERY number. And look EVERYWHERE for those numbers. And I mean EVERYWHERE. Get the numbers on the motor, tractor, mower deck, and any other accessories if any. If possible take pictures of ALL the numbers. Also write down the location of the number when you write it down and what the tag says about the number...ex Serial number, ID number, model number, type number, etc etc. Then it will be easier for you to get help to ID that bugger. Sometimes the help on this site is amazing. They can look at little details about the body and ID it that way. So various angled pictures help. Good luck....have a good day......
