Generator Light for 855

I have someone who has replacement generator lights, but these lights do not have a ground wire. I understand one can be soldered on, but I'm giving it as a gift and would like to make it as complete as possible....and I don't solder

My question is does an 855 need the ground wire for the generator light?

The light or assembly itself is it's own ground once it's in the dash. B)
