boatman 3 #1 Posted February 11, 2010 B) I have a recently purchased 1990 312 h. this is my first hydro trans tractor. Is the the rearend and hydro all the same oil? It has the ussual dip stick underseat. didn't know if that was for just rear axle like 8 speed or for the combination of rear axle and hydro. thanks guys
Sparky-(Admin) 21,405 #2 Posted February 11, 2010 It does both and should be 10w-30 or 10w-40 motor oil if it has the Eaton 1100 setup. You might have the Eaton 700 tranny and I dont know what fluid it takes if that is the case. Mike.......
Confused99 2 #3 Posted February 11, 2010 I am 99% sure the 312H has the Eaton 1100 as my current and past one had the 1100. One easy way to check is if it has hydro lift, it's the 1100. Like sparky said, use 10w-30 and pickup and new Toro/WH filter. Jason
boatman 3 #4 Posted February 11, 2010 B) Thanks guys for answer on 312h trans. Mine has the hydraulic lift. I'll probably use the 10-40 oil in it being as I live in tennessee and it does't get as cold here as it does up north. This will primarly be a mowing tractor.I have my 125c 8 speed set up with ag tires and for use in garden with tiller, moldboard plow disc and spring tooth harrow. One of these days soon as I can get someone to show me how to post a picture on forum, i will put in some pics.
