Don't worry about the spelling.........just take your time and like Kelly mentioned, go over what you have typed before you post.

It's good to see young blood getting involved in the hobby!

Chevy,

There's a lot of members here who can't spell, nor can they use proper grammar. At times I have been known to misspell a word. If you get close to the proper spelling of a word, you can right click and most browsers will give you the correct spelling.

Now, grammar is another thing. Proper grammar and proper sentence structuring is harder for even the most educated people. Being 14, you should have a basic understanding of sentence structuring and have spelling in school. In your defense, the English language is one of the hardest to master even when it's been your language your entire life.

Not using proper capitalization is mostly laziness on part of the writer, as well as not using a comma to break up your thoughts in a sentence or ending a sentence with a period.

After reading posts on forums for several years now, I still haven't develop the skill to read some of the misspell words, the improper grammar, poor sentencing structuring, no capitalization, no breaks in sentences, run on sentences, etc., etc., etc. And I know I'm not the best at grammar and structuring, but I give it a go so I can be understood (or understood by some).

Hang in there, Chevy, and just try to do the best you can. B)

The only real difference between those two is the engine. The 500 Special is a 1968 short frame 3-speed tractor that came with a Tecumseh 6Hp engine (recoil was standard and electric starts were installed by dealers) and the 857 is a 1967 short frame 3-speed tractor that came with an electric start 8Hp Kohler.

Confused again! What are you tyring to say? I think you are trying to say you will post photos on here and you love being on this site. The shift button will capitalize your I's. Good luck finding your tractor. We, the people on this site are just trying to help you spell correctly and use proper sentence structure.

jpmcleod. Give the kid a break. If you don't like (or can't understand) what he is trying to say just leave him alone. There is no need to be that way especially to a kid.

Disclaimer: I know I used the wrong you're but somehow I am guess jpmcleod can will be able to figure out what I am trying to say.

Well let's not all get our feather's ruffled over being able to understand or not understand what someone's post regarding proper spelling/sentence grammar.

The young man is doing his best, has been notified that we appreciate proper grammar, and to take his time. If he chooses to do so or not then we also have the right to respond or not.

I myself being an educator am more saddened by the fact if others have difficulty in putting together sentences and using the grammar that is expected of them. Some where along the progession of education something has failed. There could be plenty of people that we could blame for this, but I am not even going to go there.

Bottom line is that I can see that this young man LOVES this site. This site means something different for each and every one of us. We all feel satisfaction from being here for different reasons. For some it is the excitement of a new hobby and wanting to share that with others. For myself the excitement comes from learning something new on how to work on these great tractors. And finally some have the knowledge and expertise from working on these for such a long time that they can pass on their wisdom to the rest of us.

So bottom line..............let's close this topic and get it back on topic. I for one have stuck my foot in my mouth more than I would like to mention but once the words are out there they can't be taken back.

Sorry for the length of the post. This was not meant to point fingers at anyone but hoping we can get back to tractor talk.
