truckin88 104 #1 Posted February 1, 2010 While I know we all love our WH's what other brands do you like? Bolens, Jacobsen, Ford, Deere, IH cub??????
Confused99 2 #2 Posted February 1, 2010 I only have WH right now but will some day get a JD 318 which is what my grandpa had when I was growing up. He used to give me rides on it every time I went over there. I would also like to get a JD 430 diesel but probably won't as I don't see myself having any use for one right now. Maybe someday. CasualObserver 3,408 #6 Posted February 1, 2010 Many Wheel Horses around here... but just to keep a toe in the waters I also keep this 1965 Cub 100 I found this three-legged deere hiding in a corn crib in Iowa. Even the owners's son said he had absolutely no idea how they got the darn thing in there! Its a 1965 JD 110. (no new pics lately) If you ever feel like something on a Wheel Horse is too complicated... just go wrench on one of those green ones for a little while!... You'll come to your senses. In the past I've had a pair of Massey MF-10s as well, but those have moved on to be loved and cared for in other homes.

Lawn Ranger kid 14 #8 Posted February 1, 2010 We have a 1282 and a 982 Cub Cadet. Both are the red. The 982 could compare to a D series tractor (three point hitch, PTO). Josh

Operator 7 #20 Posted February 2, 2010 The Cub Cadet I had 1848 [sound right?] my good deal $100 and after $650 in parts I sold it last summer, should have pulled that motor and just sold the rest. Just got rid of my Yanmar 155D 4X4 with FEL . All Wheel Horses now. In the younger days we've had the Simplicity's, The first Case garden tractors when they came out. And waaaaay back when I was little I bought a Rugg lawn tractor/mower. Randy PS I was in your town today Lord Helmutt

wh500special 2,188 #22 Posted February 2, 2010 I bought it to resell for extra horse money, but it's still hanging around: Cub Cadet 1984/1985-ish 1512 diesel With ~30 WH's around here you'd think I'd have something to mow the lawn. But instead I use this: Kubota ZD-28 diesel zero turn w/72" deck My other lawnmower: A 1981 Ford 1700 diesel utility tractor. I've also had a SpeedEx S-16 (I think, been a while) and an early 1968 JD 110 Patio (Custom Color) tractor which - apparently - was one of the oldest "patios" known. For some reason I have no pictures of either. What the JD had in complexity the Speedex made up for in crudeness. Steve
bitten 134 #23 Posted February 2, 2010 I use a Ferris and Yazoo to mow with. Just to much lawn for a Wheel Horse, compaired to the 8 to 10 mph from the Ferris. I use the deck out in front Yazoo for the evergreen trees we have. I get plenty of Wheel Horse seat time though and am happy.
Stress Test Pullin 0 #24 Posted February 2, 2010 Cub Cadet 1984/1985-ish 1512 diesel Not to derail, but what motor does this cub have in it? Didn't they put 3 cylinder Kubotas in them for a while?
wh500special 2,188 #25 Posted February 3, 2010 Not to derail, but what motor does this cub have in it? Didn't they put 3 cylinder Kubotas in them for a while? Yep, it's a Kubota D600 3-cylinder engine. Only 15 hp, but they must be big horses. It pains me to admit this, but this CC is a nice machine. Steve
