Picked up a 312H with 4xx hours, 42" SD deck, 2 stage blower, cab, pull behind dethacher, pull behind broadcast fertilizer, and 1 rear tire chain (yes just one, couldn't find the other). Here are a couple pictures.

Thanks guys. I was pleasantly surprised that the mechanics were pretty good and both fluid levels were within spec. Can't say the same for the last couple I bought. This does have the Eaton 1100 with hydro lift which was probably needed for the 2 stage blower. I do wonder how the 12 kept up with the 2 stage though.

Nice pick up Jason. Are you planning to add the rubber strips to the paddles like Duke did on his two stage? It sure threw the snow nice after that.

I have been looking into that and will most likely do something. It makes sense that's for sure.

I am having a little diffuculty getting the 2 stage on the 520. I have the rear of the blower into the mid hitch and the lift linkage into the front hitch but it appears there are extra pieces of metal on the front part that do not seem to go to anything. I did see in a parts breakdown what appeared to be a lift assist spring. Is this spring needed with hydro lift? If it is, I didn't get it from the previous owner.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason the way the hyd. lifts the blower I'd try it with out the spring. It is a different set-up with the linkage and all.

Nice pictures

I took another look and can see how it goes together. It looks like the previous owner did have the front lift spring but it doesn't appear he used the spring on the lift rod. I will give him a call to see if he has it otherwise I will most likely order it. I would hate to break something. Do you have the lift springs on your 2 stage Randy?

Oh yeah, I have to apologize to Randy for pulling this tractor out of Wisconsin and bringing it to Minnesota :banghead: I promise not to do any horse hunting across the river ever again :WRS:

Jason, I just got a two stage, and I was able to downlaod the operation and parts manuals. The were very helpful. I'm trying mine on a 310-8 According to an old Toro spec the two stage works on a 310 and higher HP tractors. If you cant find the manuals, send me an e-mail and I forward them to you. Btw Ihave a manual lift , with the spring assit , it is essy to lift. What ever you put it on you will have to inflate the front tires higher, other wise steering is a bear.

Good luck with you find.

That lift spring is right under belt in front of attach-a-matic. If you haven't figured it out. I put mine on just because I got one. There is just one spring too.

You don't have to apologize for Horse napping, I go to Indiana myself! I did get one out of Madison though.

Joe - Thanks for your input. I think you will be better with your 310-8 than a 312H since you won't have the hydro robbing some HP.

Randy - I know the spring you are talking about. Looks like it's $25. The 2nd spring I am talking about is #7 in the pic below. Looks like it hooks onto the tab on the lift arm and I am not sure where the other end hooks.

Guys, the spring under the belt is a lift assit sring but on hydros, it not really needed. I hate it as it makes the blower ride up more IMHO.

We're getting our springs crossed!

I don't have #7 on either. Wouldn't worry about it.

I picked up a spring at the hardware store today but I don't think it is strong enough to do much. After further investigation, I found that the lift assist spring for the single stage blower is the same for the 2 stage  . Problem now is, I have got to remember where I put that spring B) . I am pretty sure it is in the box of WH stuff in storage

12hp will be just be fine. Duke has a 12hp on his machine with the two stage chucker and it does bog down under heavy loads but what won't? I've got a 27hp diesel that loads up with the 47in. two stage machine I've got in the heavy stuff. Just take your time and you will be just fine.
