hodge 6 #1 Posted January 27, 2010 I feel like a proud father. This has been a hard winter for us, and over this past weekend, we got flooded pretty bad. We had 27" of snow on the ground for much of January, two rains, the snow melted, the ground is saturated, and we got 5" of rain Sunday night. It is muddy, and the driveway is torn up. To compound things, we have a spring which runs by our driveway, and it eroded a large section out. So, I got the 310 out and started to work. I got the driveway straightened up (deep ruts), and cleaned the spring crossing. My dad used the Ford 3910 farm tractor to haul bucket loads of wet gravel over, and I used the 310 to spread that out, which it did admirably. Once we had the spring and driveway looking much better (and ready for the next deluge), he wanted to spread manure on the garden. So, he would shuttle back and forth with bucket loads, and I would spread it. I played- I could drop the throttle all the way down, and push manure in 2 hi at the lowest idle speed. That 10 horse Kohler wouldn't die. At 23 years old, that little red tractor is as tough as it gets, reliable, and good on fuel. All for the whopping price of $0.00. Gotta love it. Unlike so many things, Wheelhorse is an accomplishment- long lasting, simple, and you can keep it going for a reasonable amount. I am proud of what those WH engineers and employees accomplished. Too bad other companies don't take the same approaches. I'm done- I just had to get the warm-fuzzy thought off my chest. Blessings to you all.
