Horse Fanatic 49 #1 Posted January 26, 2010 Anyone know if the engine drive pulley was the same or different diameter for a Sustrand and Eaton trans? Thanks in advance, Glenn

Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #3 Posted January 27, 2010 I'm pretty sure that they were both 5" pulleys. Mike.........
Horse Fanatic 49 #4 Posted January 27, 2010 I was asking because there was one on ebay I just bought that the seller says is 5 1/4" diameter. Thought maybe Sustrands used a larger one. 1/4" wouldn't make much difference anyway. Thanks for the replys! Glenn
W9JAB 156 #5 Posted January 27, 2010 When it comes to pulleys (sheaves) it depends on the belt size it can handle, if the sheave is for an A, 4L, 5L, & B belts the O.D. of 5.25 will be 4.50 for 4L (A & AX) and 4.90 for 5L (B & BX) pitch Dia. or the actual diameter the belt will travel. This is only important when calculating speed and your right it will not make much difference, unless you have a clearance issue.
