wallfish 16,980 #1 Posted January 26, 2010 I was under the impression that the solid seat pan was used on the 401. Did WH use both styles of seat on the same year tractors? I see pictures with both styles but curious what would be the correct seat for a 401.

captjake 1 #3 Posted January 27, 2010 I got one 400 which has a non solid seat pan. And another which could be a 401 but currently it's a 400 that has a solid pan. Not sure. I was told the solid one is original.
MikesRJ 552 #4 Posted January 27, 2010 According to the 400 and 401 manuals, you are correct. Perforated on 400, and no perimeter holes (solid) on the 401. linen beige 14 #6 Posted January 27, 2010 According to the 400 and 401 manuals, Perforated on 400, and no perimeter holes (solid) on the 401. My 400 has a solid seat that has been with it since my dad bought the tractor in 1960. In other words, I know it's original.
