Shuboxlover 478 #1 Posted January 26, 2010 I looked all over and either 1) I don't use the search adequately... or 2) There isn't a post about this. Does anyone sell (and know where to get one) a rebuild kit for the hydraulic lift cylinder on my C-160. I think it is leaking just s bit. Are these the same as rebuilding a cylinder on a larger farm tractor like a Farmall 400, I have rebuilt those before and those are easy. any info would be great.

Shuboxlover 478 #3 Posted January 26, 2010 Is this for the valve or the cylinder? I am in need of the cylinder kit.
KB9LOR 4 #4 Posted January 26, 2010 If I am ot mistaken you can go to any Hydraulic cylinder repair shop and get those seals, I know on my woodsplitter, they had every size imaginable!
MikesRJ 552 #5 Posted January 26, 2010 Sorry, that is the valve, not the cylinder. I saw the cylinder someplace. I'll look around and update this post when I find it. UPDATE: http://cgi.ebay.com/Wheel-Horse-Hydraulic-...=item414712c0a2 The rebuild manual is located here: http://www.mywheelhorse.com/graphics/file/...epairManual.pdf
Shuboxlover 478 #6 Posted January 26, 2010  I liked the price of the valve repair better, I can buy ALOT off oil for that much money. Are they all that expensive?
KyBlue 655 #7 Posted January 26, 2010 I think id check with a local shop before shelling out that much $$..
Shuboxlover 478 #8 Posted January 27, 2010 Does anyone have part numbers and/or dimensions (or know where to get them) for the seals and such....that way if I got to a local place, they will know what I am talking about, or maybe I can order them on McMaster Carr or something. Thanks
Sarge 3,463 #9 Posted January 28, 2010 Those seals are expensive for a reason since they used the flat type ring seals. I've rebuilt a couple of these cylinders , the kit works just fine and includes that odd shaft seal as well which is hard to get. Sarge
nylyon-(Admin) 7,254 #10 Posted January 28, 2010 Before going too far with this, check your cylinder. The cylinder on my C-160 is leaking too, but it is welded. These need to be cut apart, repaired then rewelded. I am planning on bringing it to a hydraulic shop for the repair.
Sarge 3,463 #11 Posted January 28, 2010 Amen, early versions of those cylinders were welded and have to be chucked up in a lathe and cut/re-welded after rebuilding. Sorry I missed that. The C should have had an internal snap-ring type cylinder ? I know the one on my '74 does, anyway. Sarge
nylyon-(Admin) 7,254 #12 Posted January 28, 2010 I have no idea if the cylinder on mine is original or not, but my 74 is welded (just checked to be sure)
can whlvr 993 #13 Posted January 28, 2010 not that u need it but i recently bought the valve kit from the dealer and it was cheaper than the one posted on ebay, and no shipping from the dealer either,i had to wait because the toro depot up here doesnt stock them so they had to come from the main toro warehouse.
