c1651980 0 #1 Posted January 23, 2010  Mower deck on my 1980 c-165 sags horribly on the left side. I have adjusted, tweeked, and banged but have had no reasonable results. I am starting to think the tachmatic system didn't get reinstalled correctly after the last restoration. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #2 Posted January 23, 2010 First off.... Any chance you can get a picture of your mid Attach-a-Matic bracket? You might be able to see one in our picture gallery. I doubt the attachmnet point on the tractor is wrong. I would think if you had it on backwards it would not sag on just one side. I'm thinking that the deck carriage is messed up. Was the deck restored after the last restoration? Mike...........

c1651980 0 #4 Posted January 23, 2010 I am searching for a pic now. Yes the deck was reassembled. My father in law restored the tractor and put a new deck on it.
c1651980 0 #5 Posted January 23, 2010 I am unfortunately not able to load the picture that I have. I actually found it on yahoo images. I am new here, so not sure yet how to search through the picture on the site. I do agree that it is probably a deck carriage issue, especially after talking to the father in law and finding out the unit mowed great before everything was pulled apart and painted. Don1977 604 #6 Posted January 23, 2010 When the deck is installed to the tach-a-matic there is a fork on the deck rod that has to go on a rod in the tach-a-matic. If this fork is not in the right place the deck will not hang right. The rod that it fits over is the upper rod in the tach-a-matic hitch.

sgtsampay 117 #8 Posted January 26, 2010 I don't know if this will help, but on my tractor, i had the same issue. I them read the mower deck manual and learned that I had to tighten up the two little bolt under the front axle to hold it in position. Now my deck is level at all times, unless my front axle moves.
