Raider 2 #1 Posted January 18, 2010 Hello all, Can anyone tell me what this silver linkage is for on my 312-8? The first few pics show that the outer part of the linkage moves roughly parallel to the lift handle and the last pic shows the connecting rod underneath the tractor fron the bellcrank to the upper part of the linkage ( I had to remove this rod to make room for my snowblower flag). I've never seen this on a Wheelhorse, any ideas?

Sparky-(Admin) 21,300 #3 Posted January 18, 2010 Hmmm, never seen anything like that before . Its not red which makes me think its not an official Wheel Horse/TORO part. Mike........
whfan74 2,066 #4 Posted January 18, 2010 I would have to agree with Mike on this one. Maybe it was fabbed up in order to help with lifting attachments like your said snowblower. But I don't see any wear on your lift handle. Very curious on this one........
jtmoyer 1 #5 Posted January 18, 2010 best guess would be the po had a non wheel horse snow blade (or one for a vertical motor) that bounted on the front of the tractor and used that point to lift the blade.
Rideawaysenior 25 #6 Posted January 18, 2010 Wheel Horse advertised front mount dethatchers for their machines back in the mid 80's and there was a lift design that linked to the lifting mechanism. If memory serves me, that was the lift kit for that item. The dethatchers were allied attachements so yes, that is not a Wheel horse bit but it was designed for them. As always, I could be wrong. I've got the adverts showing the dethatcher, but they do not show the lift mechanism just the lifting arm disappearing just beind the engine shroud.
Raider 2 #7 Posted January 19, 2010 Thankyou for the feedback guys. As long as this hardware is not something I need for my mower deck I'll take it off. I've been looking at pictures of similar tractors here for a while now and couldn't find a single one with this part sticking out the side. If anyone recognizes this part and needs it for an attachment let me know because I don't think it will be of any use to me. Thanks again
Rideawaysenior 25 #8 Posted January 19, 2010 Confirmed as the dethatcher lift.
