Shuboxlover 478 #1 Posted January 16, 2010 What do you think this tractor is worth. A local guy has it for sale, but hasn't given me the price yet. He said he had it running for a couple minutes, but then the spark plug blew out of the head. Said he also has a deck for it. Can you guy also tell me a little bit about the 702's Thanks Attached Image (Click thumbnail to expand)

Shuboxlover 478 #4 Posted January 16, 2010 He wants me to shoot him and offer.... I don't want to insult him, but I don't want to pay too much for it. He doesn't know how much they are worth, but neither do I.
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #5 Posted January 16, 2010 Offer him $150 - $200 for it. If he agrees, you did well.
Cody 276 #6 Posted January 16, 2010 I sold a 702 on ebay two or three years ago, it was completely restored and it brought $985 without any attachments. If i recall I payed $395 for it unrestored.
Ken B 3,164 #7 Posted January 16, 2010 When someone won't give an asking price and wants me too make an offer then my worrying about insulting him has gone out the window. I'm sure he has a price already in mind and he's hoping you'll offer more than he'll let it go for or he has no idea what its worth. I think the estimates of 150-200 guys have given are definately within reason. I really enjoy my 702.
buckrancher 2,679 #8 Posted January 16, 2010 If the sheet metal is straight I would offer $250.00 looks like she has the original mushroom style muffler and the seat looks to be in good shape
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #9 Posted January 16, 2010 Isn't the object of the game to get them as cheap as possible?

Kelly 1,029 #11 Posted January 17, 2010 If they can't give me a starting price I always low ball, my money is hard to get these days, and I'm not giving it away.
pond195520032003 27 #12 Posted January 17, 2010 keep in mind that the spark plug blew out!! so its either going to need a heli-coil or new head and gasket
whfan74 2,066 #13 Posted January 17, 2010 I would offer no higher than $100 for it. If he bawks then you can work from there. Just remind him that you gave him the opportunity to throw out a price. Start low and work your way up from there............
