buckrancher 2,679 #26 Posted January 12, 2010 The latch moves when I push the rod and I sprayed it with WD 40 but it wont lock into the notch where its supposed to. sounds to me like the spring is broke inside the lift arm (the spring pushs up and holds the rod in the detent notch) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Duff 206 #28 Posted January 13, 2010 Try this and see if it helps you: Go to https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?...es&xCaller=Toro, plug in B-80 for product name and search. Pick one result (unless you know the specifics of your B-80, but in this case the lift mechanisms are probably all the same) and click through "View Assembly Drawings" to find "Lift Linkage." The picture is pretty small but it may help. [Quoted from HankB). At the top of the assembly drawing there's an option to view it at 100% or 200%. Click on 200%. I looked at the drawing and it's not really too specific on how the lift assembly attaches to the tractor itself. It it's at all like the newer models (300, 400 series and others), at the base of the long lift handle there's a heavy steel shaft that goes into and through the dash tower of the tractor. This shaft passes through the lift crank thingy that actually lifts the implement under the tractor. This lift crank is held onto the shaft by one or two big spring clips that you pull out to allow the shaft to slide out of the lift crank. There's also a keyway inside the lift crank with a square key. On my tractors, the shaft has a honking big circlip at the end of the shaft opposite the lift handle that keeps the shaft from sliding out of the tractor. If you find one of these, pop it loose (but watch out - it may try to go flying!), pull the spring clip or clips on the lift crank, and the whole thing should slide out toward the left side of the tractor. You'll then be able to see what shape the pin we've all been talking about is in. I don't know if this helps, but it's about the best I can do to describe the process. tgranthamfd 29 #30 Posted January 18, 2010 We had that problem too, It was hitting the cast before it got to the locking notch. Just loosened the two bolts that hold it on, and pivited it up at the rear and made sure all the adjustment rods were in the right holes on the bell crank arms. problem solved it now locks into place when in raised position.
