TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted January 5, 2010 Just enter 1276 (without the "T-") at Toro. The engine should be a K301S with spec number 4712B.
Hammerhead 817 #3 Posted January 5, 2010 Those are pretty good tractors! It should have a 12 hp. Kohler, the Hydrastatic(Wheel A Matic) Drive Trans. and it was built in 1966...Model #1276. So it is kinda rare! Only the 2nd year for the Wheel-A Matic trans. That's the biggest engine for that year. Hope for some pics soon! Good find! KB9LOR 4 #4 Posted January 5, 2010 Here are some pics, more later! It sat in the PO's Barn until last fall when he needed more room for his hay, I did not know what I was getting until I got there, got it for 30.00, the guy asked me if that was too cheap, and I said I am happy with the price as long as you are, and he was, the mower was shot he said, so he tossed it, wish I knoew where, but everything was there, the only problem he had with it is that it would take off on him if he left it running and got off of it, so that tells me it needs and tad adjustment, and of course new paint! KB9LOR 4 #15 Posted January 5, 2010 Nice find Brian...the paint scheme makes you wonder what some people are thinking when they do things like that. I could understand it if you were from...JERSEY That is too funny! Being it is a motley of colors, I am going to strip it down and repaint and such, after I get the tranny swapped in the GT-1642. KB9LOR 4 #17 Posted January 5, 2010 Here are some daylight pictures, but need help, it does not have the tow valve, so how do you move a horse that does not want to? I want it to move somewhat freely. It is a shame those tires are dry rotted, they all have the Wheelhorse name on them. And I do have all the parts handy I believe to fix it, I have a 877 parts tractor that will hook this one right up! same tranny and all!(if it is ever needed) BTW- What was the original seat? Metal or one of the newer ones? I have seen them with both. The seat on it now is off a Ditch Witch, and I don't want nothing that horrendous on my Horse! lol
qd-16 14 #18 Posted January 5, 2010 It should have a metal seat pan with this style of cushion.
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #19 Posted January 5, 2010 The tow valve is accessible from inside the toolbox: DON'T be surprised if it won't budge. As far as it not sitting still with the parking brake on....... the park pawl in these are very similar to the type used in auto transmissions in older cars & trucks. The downfall to the WH version is that the pawl shears off if the brake is applied before motion has stopped. The only way to access the pawl assembly is to split the case.
