Misaligned shifter forks

Recommended Posts

What a PITA this is today. 18 deg and 30 mph winds

Twice the forks got misaligned in my 654 while plowing snow. The shifter looks a little worn so I am assuming the forks are also. The pin is in tight.

It looks like I'm in the market for these parts or a decent used tranny if anyone has these for sale.

John,

How bout a completely rebuilt trans with the right casting date (close) for $250 (might cut you a deal on this since you are a valued customer!) plus a $50 core charge?

Usually the ball end of the shifter itself is more worn than the forks. I've welded them up, and filed the ball round again before, and it has worked well.

IIRC I bronze welded it, easier to "float" the puddle to where you want it.

Charlie,

That's kinda why I asked about the tranny last time I saw you but it's hard for me to justify a $250 tranny for a tractor I paid a $100 for. I'm definately considering it now so I'll let you know.
