BPC23 18 #1 Posted January 3, 2010 Hi everybody! I'm Brian, a new guy to the forum. I became a Wheel Horse fan sometime in 2005 when a good friend of mine gave me a non-working 1982 Work Horse GT-1142. It looked to be in decent condition and complete, but the head was off the engine and it had been sitting for a year or so. My father-in-law is a die-hard JD fan and has a big assortment of equipment that he has personally restored and I

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #4 Posted January 3, 2010 Looks very good. I like the black frame. Give Terry a call, he is a vendor here on RS (redoyourhorse) and get yourself a set of of decals for that machine and it will really pop more than it does now. Decals are like icing on the cake Welcome to rs

Duff 206 #17 Posted January 4, 2010 Hi, Brian, and ! That's both a great story and very fine looking tractor! I'm a little envious because you one-upped me on the black/red paint scheme. My #2 312-8 I'm in the process of reassembling is virtually identical in the paint scheme. Great minds think alike, eh? Glad to have you among us, and if it hasn't already, the "urge" to expand your herd will hit - fair warning! Oh - to echo Sparky's note - Terry, our resident decal guy, is Da Bomb when it comes to really sharp decals for our tractors! He's in our vendor section. BPC23 18 #20 Posted January 4, 2010 Guys, thanks for the warm welcome and the nice compliments! I plan on adding decals in the spring, but I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do, but they'll probably be custom. I like the idea of having GT-1142 on her, since that's what she is, but I'd rather have "Wheel Horse" instead of "Work Horse" on the decal. I'll be sure to contact Terry at ReDoYourHorse when I'm ready. Dunk50, you're funny! I like your sense of humor. I've since added foot treads! WH Raider 10, I ran new wires to the clutch and used two bullet connectors to make it easy to disconnect when changing implements and such. I used split polyloom everywhere to protect the wires. Well, off to the forums! Brian

tgranthamfd 29 #25 Posted January 6, 2010 Very nice job, well done. I think there is a Work Horse in the picture gallery with stock decals on a red paint job, looks good. Whatever you decide on with the decals will look awesome or awesomer. Is that a word.
