beast owner 1 #1 Posted December 13, 2009 Just wondering the best way to put a new clutch in. Pull the motor and bellhousing out as a unit, or pull the bellhousing and clutch out of the bottom? Can anyone ?!
clintonnut 126 #2 Posted December 14, 2009 Take the driveshaft off, remove the brake pedals and rock shaft, remove the 6 or 8 bolts that hold the cast iron cover on, remove the 8 bolts in the pressure plate, remove clutch. As simple as that. Charlie

dkopp 1 #4 Posted December 14, 2009 How about some pictures when you do that clutch? That may be a pretty interesting post.
beast owner 1 #5 Posted December 29, 2009 I finally got some time to get the beast apart following charlied250 advice The small springs in the clutch disc had broken and fallen out and got stuck between the flywheel and disc causing the clutch to not disengage. Called the local auto parts stores for a clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing for a 1962-69 renault dauphine or caravelle, but they don't list anything older then 1976 for renaults. Anyone know where to look next? :WRS:

clintonnut 126 #10 Posted December 31, 2009 The problem is no one knows what the heck your talking about. It is like talking to them in CHINESE. Greggd250 and I talked about this for quite a while. The clutch can be bought at any toro dealer for $150 or so and the pressure plate and throwout bearing can be found on ebay. Or you can just get a complete clutch kit from europe for a cheap price but shipping will be double what you pay for the part. Charlie
