Electro 12 update

Recommended Posts

Heres my almost refinished 1969 Electro 12 I picked up last weekend. This is going to be a worker that my 15 yr old son can use too make some dough clearing driveways this winter and grass cutting.

The things I have left to do are: Install new decals when they get here and I think I'm going too spring for some new front Tri ribs as the originals are cracked up pretty bad. I was burnin some serious midnight oil to get it done in a week. The rear fender pan required the most work as it was bent up and pitted pretty badly. Heres a before and after pics.

Ha! :notworthy: I saw the first pic and thought it was a pretty poor resto. Then I read the rest of the post and saw the next pic. Great job!

What is the hole in the flywheel grass screen for?

Ken,

If you decide to change the seat .... I am interested in the one that is one it. I just picked up a 310-8 today and it needs a seat ..

I don't know what the hole is in the flywheel screen but I have seen it a few times in the past.

Steve, I'll let you know on the seat, I've been keeping my eye on Ebay and the ones I'd be interested in seem to be lined with gold for the prices they've been fetching.

Chris, I'll be the very first too admit, this restoration isn't show quality, at least if there are any judges involved. There are no runs, the paint is shiny and the overall appearance is pretty good but I didn't go crazy. I'm gonna work it! Once the big Horse comes home I'll be losing my warm workspace!

Thanks for all the comments guys, I'm having some fun once again.

Tractor looks very nice...but I couldn't help but notice the MasterCraft Stars and Stripes in the background. My number one passion would be direct drive inboards!!! :notworthy:

Sweet, thanks for the link. Looks like it's an 84 or 85...In twenty years I have no doubt that I am going to regret selling my 85. One of these days I'll have another, but much like my current tractor situation, my wife didn't agree with having two boats. So I kept the one that suits my skiing needs/wants more at the present time...98 Malibu Echelon.

Be sure to check out MasterCraft Team Talk if you haven't...it's a site for MasterCraft enthusiasts just like this site.
