ducky 1 #1 Posted November 26, 2009 i'm looking to buy a 312-8 any thoughts on them? :notworthy:
Duff 206 #2 Posted November 26, 2009 OK, some here might say I'm a bit biased in my response to your question, but I'd have to give the 312-8 some pretty decent marks. The Kohler powerplant in either iteration is very solid. Parts overall are very available either NOS or second hand. The tractor is well designed (well....most Horses are, so I guess that's no great recommendation!), and the basic structure lasted until Toro ended production in 2007...about 22 years by my rough figuring. Down side? If you are going to do a rebuild or restoration, be prepared to work on a LOT of parts. This is not to say you'll need to replace a lot of parts, just that in the later years WH started adding a lot of stuff to their tractors. All in all, I'd give the 312-8 !
