Hammerhead 817 #1 Posted November 25, 2009 Descent little round hood. I got this one awhile back, never got it running yet . Just stashed it away and it's still sitting, waiting to be next in the shop! This has the rare updraft carburator on this Model. I have 2 of these 633's and a couple extra updraft carbs on the shelf. Hard to find this Model of WH. :WRS:
rickv1957 72 #2 Posted November 25, 2009 Keith, you sure have some nice tractors, that 633 looks very nice,Rick
Hammerhead 817 #3 Posted November 25, 2009 Another pic of the 633. Notice the seldom seen center tool box where the battery should sit. This Model only comes with a recoil starter so no need for a battery. It bolts in the battery box as a battery would, so it is the same dimension as a battery. Ken B 3,165 #4 Posted November 25, 2009 Sweet little tractor. I bet a 6 pack of your favorite beverage would fit right in that battery box/tool storage box.
WH Raider 10 0 #5 Posted November 25, 2009 Hey Hammerhead, you wouldn't mind showing pics of the updraft carb. Sounds really interesting Thanks Dan B.

Hammerhead 817 #7 Posted November 25, 2009 Thanks fella's! Here's a pic of the engine before I cleaned it up. It was pretty rough looking but turned out better than I expected. Updraft carb is cruddy. I don't have much interest in it currently, but it is cool...

Indy w h 5 #11 Posted November 25, 2009 What years were the up drafts on?? And who made them?? Indy
Hammerhead 817 #12 Posted November 26, 2009 This type of updraft carb was only put on this Model, which is the 633 built in 1963. This is on a 6 Hp. Kohler. No other round hoods had this type of carb on it. So I guess it's pretty rare There were a couple other updraft carbs, but not this type. The 1960 Model 550 had a updraft carb on it and it was a 5.5 Hp. Tecumseh engine. Maybe an early Clinton powered RJ had an updraft on it, but I am not sure about that. Anyone else know of any updraft models? :WRS:
