Hauled in a pretty neglected one...

Here's my Christmas present from my wife...

She's a little rough, but pretty much all there. A buddy of mine has a belt guard for me. I'm going to try to get it running tomorrow and decide the fate of it. If I can get it running decent, I've got some big plans for it. :notworthy:

The left hub is WAY busted. I'm thinking that's what put it out of commission, so hopefully it will run decent.

I'll update tomorrow!

IT'S ALIVE!!!!

I spent about an hour this morning, swapping the carb and cleaning it up a little. Put in a fresh battery and some gas... it fired right up! Actually runs pretty good! :notworthy:

It does have a major oil leak, somewhere around the bottom of the oil pan. I'm heading back out to pull the engine and see what the problem is.

There is no way I would not restore it. That tractor looks better than some I have redone. Regarding the hub, I'm assumiong it the rear hub, if they are 1 1/8 hubs, let me know. I have 3 of them. You can have the one survivor.

I plan on buying a digital camera for the family for Christmas. I want to start posting photos of some of my tractors.

Love this post.

The inspirational music was playing yesterday...

I pulled the engine to see where the MASSIVE oil leak was coming from...

1056_015.jpg

Just as I suspected... the bottom of the pan. You can just make out the cracks. One down each side.

1056_017.jpg

I had the engine off, so I figured I'd take a few more pieces off and clean it up a bit...

1056_008.jpg

Here's how she sits now...

I went to visit my buddy and picked up a belt guard and oil pan. I'll probably hold out for a WH pan, because I would have to drill/tap the two mounting holes AND the oil drain plug. I'm sure Devin (fritz) has a spare WH pan.

The fender pan is pitted worse than about anything I've ever seen...

1056_012.jpg

I'll be swapping it with the one off of the 656 I brought home a couple days ago...

Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings is my inspirational music as well. That tractor is looking great. I want to have my Electro 12 I purchased last weekend done by the end of this weekend in its new set of work clothes. Its a little too damp and cold here right now to paint but I'll make due.

Well, I haven't done much on the 1056 for the past week... Today I decided to get it rolling again...

I slid on some heavy duty hubs off of a B-80...

And put on a fresh set of tie rods...

1056026.jpg

Rollin, rollin, rollin....
