C-100 Restoration

Recommended Posts

WH_C100

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and this topic is about the restoration me and my friends are doing on my '75 C-100. So far, all the panels and the wheels have been painted, and the 10hp Kohler engine is being re-built at my friends workshop. The paint I'm using is Plasti-Kote red gloss, which is the closest colour to the origional red I can afford on a student budget. More pictures to come. Thanks!

The wheel hub being prepared for painting. The engine is almost finished too, so hopefully I can have the Horse back in action soon, and I'll post some pictures of the engine soon. The colours on this Wheelhorse are slightly different from usual because it was completely black when I bought it, and I decided to keep the frame and pedals black.

Thanks! Well, the engine itself will be black, but the engine covers are going to be silver, I had it that way before a while ago, but then the engine packed up so I decided to re-paint everything.

The engine and wheels were silver when I bought it, and the Wheelhorse itself was black, whoever owned it before painted it this way, here's a better version of my profile picture:

Thanks guys! Glad you like it so far, I'll keep you posted as I make progress, hopefully I'll be able to get some more done this weekend. :notworthy:

This picture gives a better idea of the colour, though in real life the red is darker than it looks here-

I live in England, and surprisingly, there's no rust on my Horse, since we have a lot of rain. Either ways, I always keep the Wheelhorse in a nice dry garage so it won't ever rust, I'm just lucky whoever owned it before did the same.

The only problem I'm having at the moment is the front right wheel bearing has gone, and since I'm in the UK, spare parts are hard to find. I think a friend of mine might be able to make something up on a lathe, though.

Hello folks, the Wheelhorse has its Kohler back, and is running. The last big thing to do is fix the front wheel bearing and touch up the paint.

I'm in the UK, spare parts are hard to find.

WH_C100 we have about 8 members here on RedSquare from the UK. One of the best one is Stigian from Paddock Wood, Kent, UK , if you e-mail or personal message [ pm ] he might be able to help you with part, or know we to go to get them in the UK. Your should check out all of his post here on RedSquare they are great.

Thanks for all the nice comments!

And that's a lot of help, thanks Duke. I think I'm doing alright for parts now I'm getting my wheel bearing made up, but once I get the Horse finished I'll be looking for a new seat and lights and a few other parts B)
