ronscat 2 #1 Posted October 19, 2009 Went pulling a coupla Saturdays ago. I was the last puller in my class in the second round of pulling. I reved the Kawasaki v-twin up and let off the clutch and there was a loud pop in the transaxle. I tried different gears but no go I hate it when I have to load up by pushing the tractor onto the trailer. The transaxle has been a good one for 10 years pulling. I can't really complain about it breaking. It has had a stock 16hp kohler that was later modified, a modified Vanguard v-twin, and now a stock Kawasaki v-twin. I will probably rob a transaxle off another Wheel Horse to take the busted ones place. Ron
baerpath 517 #2 Posted October 19, 2009 Been there done that One weekend we broke two trannys in one puller . One on Sat and then anothefr one on Sun. I hear ya on the push loading Duane
ronscat 2 #3 Posted October 19, 2009 I've been to three different guy's houses today to see if anyone had a spare transaxle sitting around. No luck on that deal. One of the guys had swapped a complete good looking Indy 500 wheel horse for a "hit and miss" motor. I guess those old motors are more valuable than I gave them credit for. Duane, It sound like you know my pain with breaking transaxles. Ron

ronscat 2 #8 Posted October 24, 2009 Decided to pick up another WH from someone to rob the transmission from to go on my puller. Just don't want to rob one off one of my play toys I already have. Ron

ronscat 2 #19 Posted January 26, 2010 Just an update. Pulled at a "test-n'-tune" day this past Saturday for the 1st time out with the 8-spd transmission. I really like the way the limited slip worked. Now I can turn around on less than an acre, and both rear tires hooked up nicely. We got a money pull on Feb 13th, so just needed to check my tractor out since it hasn't pulled in a few months. Ron
