rick 233 #3 Posted October 7, 2009 I am pretty sure the 250000 series horizontal engines hold 48 ounces, but to be sure you can start with 36 ounces and check the level on the dipstick. Lacking a dipstick, it gets filled 'til the oil is to the top of the threads where the little plastic oil cap goes. If you go the Briggs website, you can download the owner's manual for your engine. You must have the model and code numbers that are stamped into the engine blower housing. For example, the numbers on the 11 HP engine on my C111 are as follows: 252417 0198-01.
