KB9LOR 4 #1 Posted September 28, 2009 Just found out I have an axel oil seal leaking on the left side of the tranny, question I have does the case have to be split to replace the oil seal? The tranny is a 6-speed w/HI-LO tranny 5060 Gear driven. Thanks, Brian
bell 11 #2 Posted September 28, 2009 No, you DO NOT have to split the case... Here's a REALLY good thread on it... with lots of pictures!!! http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=221&hl=

KB9LOR 4 #6 Posted September 28, 2009 ***UPDATE*** Got the hub off, but the hub is wallowed out some, may have one on the junk 877, anyways, went to check fluid level in tranny, oh oh...water coming out of the where I took out the check plug, dropped the lower allen nut to drain tranny, nothing but water, no oil whatsoever, sooo, looks like I am going to have to split the tranny, want to be sure ALL of the water is gone with no residue, and that is the only way I know to do that is to tear it down. BTW- The axels on my Raider 12 are 1-1/8" ordered 2 of them just a while ago, they only had 4 left in Indy. Brian
