If using an automotive tach on a K181 would I need to double or cut in half the reading on the tach to get the actual RPMs the K181 is running?

Thanks!

rob, all of the tachs i have for automotive puposes, are set up fpr 4,6 or 8 cylinder applications. most have a switch on the back, or a loop to cut to change the input pulse from the coil. if your tach is like the ones i have,i dont think you can accurately get it to function on a one cylinder application.

Also check out Tiny Tach. Be advised that you will need one for a Kohler K Series. They fire different than other one cyls.
