I discovered that the 6" bar clamp I was looking for was on top of the step later- when I moved the ladder. It missed my head by a couple of inches on its way to the floor. I've stuck tools in my pockets and found them months or years later under the seats of vehicles, or out in my burn pile in the yard. Also, it was a fixed wrench, so misplacing it like that made me question if I'd tightened the drain plug correctly, so I had to put the car back up and take the gravel shield back off and check, because I couldn't find see if it was set to on or off.
