Don in Mystic 4 #1 Posted yesterday at 04:45 PM I have a 1974 C-100. I recently relined the brake band with a new lining from Ebay. I used a high temp adhesive to attach it. The brakes work great when traveling forward but I have nothing in reverse. I skipped deglazing the "drum" but considering the brakes function perfectly in Fwd I doubt that's the problem. I can't speak for the other seller, but if you bought it from me, I can tell you that you probably just need to adjust your brake according to the manual. Of the thousands of linings sold, I have never heard of a reverse stopping issue. Try re-adjusting and let us know. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

squonk 42,552 #4 Posted yesterday at 05:40 PM Paul is correct. Looking at the drum, it spins clockwise going forward. The band is tightened from the bottom and the drum surface is "forced" into the lining. ri702bill 8,975 #5 Posted yesterday at 07:24 PM One other thing you may try - remove the brake band to give access to the brake drum. Scuff up the OD with 80 grit sandpaper.
