D_Mac 9,152 #1 Posted yesterday at 11:58 AM So I can't help myself. Saw this on CL for dirt cheap. Went and picked it up. PO said it needed a battery, something wrong with steering, flat tire. Got it in my truck and brought it home. I have to laugh at how cheaply made they are but sell for crazy money. The steering issue was just a tie rod that came off at one end. Why it came off is because it's only held on by an r clip. Must worn off . Replaced it. Put a charge on the battery and it fired right up. Moves fine. Deck works. It has the bagger. That was an extra. PO bought it in 2016 when Sears closed it doors at a local mall. New these things are 2k, unbelievable how cheap and poorly constructed it is. Oh well. I have to get a front tire for it as it has a big tear in the center. Then as always pass it on. 3
ebinmaine 70,747 #2 Posted yesterday at 12:08 PM Ain't nothing wrong with that. You saved it from recycling. You gave yourself something to do. You probably gave yourself some profit. Overall, that's a win. In fact, if you weren't 10 hours away from me I would buy that from you because we could use something like that at my mom's place. Someone will be sure to catch that for purchase very soon. IMHO, Nicely done.

peter lena 9,088 #5 Posted yesterday at 12:23 PM @D_Mac interesting you brought this up , was just at town dump for , old paint , drop off , and spotted a very similar unit , that also looked good , just waiting to get crunched , there was also a like new engine stand , in the same hold spot , hardly a scratch on it , town does not allow any reuse of of anything , once turned in . we come from possibly the last generation of interest / knowledge to keep something useful . all the more reason , to maintain your stuff , time traveler , pete 1
