stvski80085 142 #1 Posted yesterday at 03:49 PM (edited) I'm looking for a new set of rear rims if someone sells them. I want to have different sets I can swap on in winter vs summer. Any idea's. I've been looking to see if any wheels that fit could be bought new or if I just need to go used. 5433 is original part number for the wheels. ebinmaine 70,696 #2 Posted yesterday at 04:36 PM Most rear wheels off of most wheel horses will work. Lincoln at A to Z Tractor in PA would likely have a set of whatever vintage and width you're looking for.
ebinmaine 70,696 #3 Posted yesterday at 04:37 PM Bolt pattern is 5x4.5. You might be able to go with a new set of trailer wheels. As well.
WHX?? 50,698 #4 Posted yesterday at 05:21 PM You might be able to buy them new from Miller Tire but make sure the offset is right. Personally I would look for a cheap donor roller.
stvski80085 142 #5 Posted yesterday at 05:25 PM Thanks. I will check the offset and see what I can find. I do have another tractor I could just swap them when needed. If I can find some cheap I may get another set.

Problem with that is trailer rims often don't have the width we like. I was quite heavy on rims at one time from rollers. Pretty slim pickins now. I have been known to swap tires in seasons too. Could put an ad in wanted someone is gonna have extra rear rims. Edited yesterday at 07:16 PM by WHX??
stvski80085 142 #7 Posted yesterday at 07:17 PM (edited) What about these. They look like the back spacing should work but I will verify. https://www.bmikarts.com/12-x-85-Wheel-5-on-4-12_p_45424.html These are 8.5 instead of 7.5 but I'm ok with that. Like a 24x12.00-12... (See my Tecumsehorse thread for yesterday's pics on 12" tires.) You could use an 8.5 tire but would likely NEED a tube to get it seated. Personally I prefer the wider tires. I also prefer to use tubes anyways... The biggest consideration on the above rims will be the 1/2" lug holes. Another consideration would be the (possibly too deep) backset. You could solve BOTH with a set of wheel spacers. I have info I can share by PM if you're interested. Definitely doable. The price is right too.
Skwerl58 746 #9 Posted 23 hours ago I got lucky and picked up a set of early 80's Sears garden tractor wheels and tires for $40 6-7 years ago. Bolted right up and fit and look good on my 414-8. I have 3 sets, ag tires, and wide and narrow turf. The ags and narrow turf are fluid filled for extra traction.

I need to measure the backspacing on my current ones. I would put Ag tires and fluid fill them. That’s why I want some good ones so I don’t need to mess with them for a long time.

They'll definitely hold more. That's a certain percentage too leave air in. Even at that there's nearly 90 lbs of weight PER TIRE. I haven't decided if I'm going to fill this particular set yet. They may stay air filled for floating over mud for this spring at least.
stvski80085 142 #13 Posted 9 hours ago True. It plowed fine this winter with garden tires. I may not fill them or I will leave ruts most places.

Those rims are an inch wider and the rear offset is deeper, you may have some inside tire rub or they may not even fit once the tires are mounted. The wheel horse rear off is 1 3/8 those are 2.0" given the extra 1" wider rim and the 1/2" deeper offset you would have about an inch deeper on the inside depending on the size tire you go with. Racinbob 11,720 #15 Posted 4 hours ago Are you willing to clean and repaint? I have two sets of 7.5" with the 1 1/4" offset and 7/16" lug holes. The left have 23-8.50's that would need tubes. The right have 23-10.50's that are shot. All are solid rims that would clean up nicely.
