Cjwv1975 67 #1 Posted Saturday at 03:54 PM Any good ideas on how to replace tiller tines. Mine are pretty shot. I know Toro still sells replacements and AZ tractors had a kit but hate to spend that much on something used a few times a yr. Thanks
daveoman1966 3,807 #2 Posted Saturday at 05:13 PM Consider this: If tines cost you $300...and last for 15 years.... that's only $20/year. Surely, you (and I) have blown up $20 on MANY useless things... Or, maybe you'd rather use a pick and shovel. (lol). 2 1

Ive got an old Snapper self propelled Ive used before I got this tiller attachment. Ive spent well over that on my WH so yeah I get it but just looking and hoping for a cheaper alternative lol. pfrederi 18,324 #4 Posted Saturday at 08:16 PM If they are not entirely worn lay a couple beads of weld on the leading edge.. Never tried it my self but remember some discussion from TroyBilt users who did it
oliver2-44 10,354 #5 Posted Saturday at 10:13 PM If you have a scrap piece of flat copper or brass you can use it as a backer" when you try to weld the tines up. Steel does not stick to brass or copper. Consider it good welding practice. doesn't mater what ir t looks like, because your going to grind it to a square flat profile anyway. 1
kpinnc 13,718 #6 Posted Sunday at 01:09 AM Mine has a set of Ford tine blades on it. They are exactly the same tines that Wheel Horse used. Bolted right up onto the same holes. My point is that you shouldn't limit yourself to the Wheel Horse name brand. 20 years ago I would not have said this, but nowadays it's getting harder to find this stuff. As with many tractors of the same time period, there were alot of different brands that used the same vendors for some parts.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,243 #7 Posted Sunday at 01:28 AM Often wonder if these could be bolted on to the Wheel Horse tiller. They must be a popular item if these folks in Ontario Canada carry them. They have the original part numbers listed which is handy for more searching with dimensions. There can not be many companies still manufacturing them.
