Convert a “Vertical Shaft” B Series Tiller for my 414-8?

Recommended Posts

I have a line on a NOS rototiller attachment.  It's a “Vertical Shaft” B Series Tiller.

How difficult will it be to convert it for use with my 414-8?

(Please say easy!)

Tillers are for a B115 - B165.  What's the basic difference?  Just mounting?

Pulleys?

Belts?

Each of these links pertain to the B-Series tiller

4 files for tiller model 07-30TL01

https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?&q=07-30tl01&type=downloads_file&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy

2 files for tiller model 07-30TL02

https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=07-30tl02&quick=1&type=downloads_file

The 414-8 requires a 07-36TL03 or similar model.

You can compare the parts and note that one is 30" wide and the other 36" wide

Thank you!

It's a TL01, BTW.

So, are you saying that the TL01 can't be easily converted for use with my 414-8?

Sorry, I'm dense.

Not saying that at all. I have never seen either one of them.

The 30" tiller is for a tractor with a vertical engine crankshaft.

You need the 36" tiller for a tractor with a horizontal engine crankshaft.

After looking at the illustrated parts lists for both it is not a challenge I would attempt.

If it was done you would likely tear it up on the 2nd pass through the garden.

Sorry

Thank you.  It's a shame, and disappointing because I can't find a decent tiller, but I sincerely appreciate your help.

Will a Rototiller, model 79370 match my 414-8?

It came off a 314.
