aaronthomas57 27 #1 Posted April 12 Hello everyone, I've dug through the posts, and followed the guides. I've got enough purple links on google to make Grimace jealous, but can not seem to get my tractor to actually stop the rear pulley so I can shift properly. I'm not sure if I'm missing some adjustment somewhere or not. The drive belt is factory spec. I've adjusted all of the guard points by the book. (Typically 1/16-1/32). I've attached two sets of images, one with the belt slack (clutch all the way pedal down) and one with it taught (clutch all the way up) I'm at a loss, and hoping the wheel horse wizards can point me in the right direction or call me out for missing something obvious. Thank you in advance
ri702bill 8,954 #2 Posted April 12 Are you running it without the belt guard?? It is part of the system that helps stop the belt....
squonk 42,505 #3 Posted April 12 I had the same issue on my 953. I fashioned a rear belt guide out of a piece of brake line and fastened it to the fender. It's in the yellow circled area in your picture. Here is the guide. You can see the bolt in the fender that holds it in place.
Ed Kennell 40,455 #4 Posted April 12 You could also add a belt brake tab. It works without belt guides and belt guard. 1

I like this, I’m going to have to see what I can come up with identical to this on a project horse that the drive belt doesn’t want to brake when clutch is pressed in.
