"Manic-Mechanic" 1,228 #1 Posted Friday at 01:22 PM (edited) Going to begin a re-power of the OH16 in Sears 70’s frame. The Ignition Module is well known for failure and quite illusive looking strongly at Wisconsin Robin, WI-390 It sits an inch high but it may work, (granted the tank is removed) has the right sump bolt pattern and shaft size. Also on board charging system. I am tearing down the old OH and it will be off soon. Then a slew of measurements ensues! Figure just simply try to set it down in there and cross my fingers! pictures to come soon Edited Friday at 01:27 PM by "Manic-Mechanic"
ebinmaine 70,527 #2 Posted Friday at 01:28 PM Just an FYI. There are multiple YouTube channels and videos about how to make your own electronic ignition system for that vintage Tecumseh. If your engine is otherwise okay, that would give you another alternative. @Ed Stoller has a YouTube channel and information. I have one of his kits here that I'm holding on to for future usage.

I have seen that and others but this Robin engine is on my shelf sitting with anxiety… The Sears electrical is a nightmare, everything is toast! I have rebuilt a couple OH in the past, they are there own entity, that’s for sure!
