417A Transmission Fluid

Recommended Posts

Bull

Hello Everyone,

I have been using Castrol GTX 10w/40 for my transmission oil in my 417A. I was wondering if going to Castrol 10W/40 synthetic would be okay since I picked it up because there wasn't any regular 10W/40 at the parts store.

Regards,

Bob

I have always used 10-30 non synthetic in 3 of my Eaton 1100 hydros year round for 20 + years in Maine and Mass. No issues.

what's your insights on mixing conventional/standard oil with synthetic - - into either the engine or tranny??? or what's labeled "blended?

Won't hurt anything. Just use the same weight.

They are compatible, so it makes no difference.
