Sometimes on pipe fittings, you’ll find that if you can’t loosen it, you can still tighten it.  It’s the weirdest thing.  Try opening up those slip groove pliers one more notch, and getting the jaws in there good.  Give it a hit to the right and I bet five bucks it’ll move.  Prizes redeemable in high fives, or worthless chatter at the Big Show!

Do you know if the 66 856 has another bolt or drain hole under the engine somewhere I can drain the engine oil other than that dreaded threaded pipe cover?? At this point I’m thinking of just suctioning out the oil thru the dipstick hole much as I can then refilling

Possibly at the front of the engine, under the air cleaner?  I have so many, I can’t recall what or where!

Anyone know the inner diameter size of the 856 oil drain pipe? I have a valve adapter and once I get the cap off .. I’ll change it out just need an adapter.

Once you get that cap off, change it to a cap you can put a socket on.  I've changed all mine over like that, so much easier.

You could simply put one of these on it. I have them on all my tractors. Short piece of hose into a jug keeps it simple. :)

Did you change out the metal pipe to the engine to a black newer version in picture?

I might have but you don't have to. Just purchase the proper valve. I believe that one is an EZ Drain.

I have decided to use some JB weld a Socket onto the front of the stubborn threaded oil butt Capp. Just have to decide which socket to use and then use with a breaker bar

since your going this route, sand the pipe plug to bright metal with coarse sand paper and wipe clean with solvent like lacwuer thinner.

You want a clean coarse surface for the JB weld to "grip" onto.

Thank you will have to rough it up. Was thinking of using a file or a dremel to score the flat surface but will give sandpaper a go

A Dremel of file will work just fine. Just rough it up, don't polish it.

Try a vice grip on the end like this ,take a large screwdriver/ pry bar and hammer if needed. I know your end is round just tighten vice grip as tight as you can.

Here is pics of my 856, mybe quick tap to get it started
