adsm08 2,536 #2 Posted Saturday at 01:57 AM Good luck. I have two like that, and have been tilting at this particular windmill for about 6 years now. The problem is that the metal is so impregnated with hydraulic fluid that nothing sticks to it, so products like quik-steel don't work well. I've been told you can't weld it in and re-drill because it will warp. I tried sticking a short length of brake line down in there and it kinda worked, but the brake line always works loose, and I can't find an adhesive that will bind it. I will say, the broken spring does very little to prevent proper operation of the unit. You just have to be mindful to manually return the valve to the neutral position or it will heat up and usually burns up the pulley shaft seal.
