Before I continue down that path, I'll try to keep it 'on subject'. @Bar Nuthin - did you end up making a deal on that deck? Now, going off subject: It is a pain, but mowing in reverse with a RD deck does a fairly good job of mulching up moderate amounts of leaves. Doesn't work at the height of leaf season, though. Just had a stupid idea - set up a RD deck with the back facing forward in a front mount deck rig? Edited yesterday at 04:07 PM by 8ntruck

Just had a stupid idea - set up a RD deck with the back facing forward in a front mount deck rig? Yeah, I couldn't pass giving it a try for $50. Yes, all of my mowers mulch better in reverse - likewise, they feed my leaf vacuum better when backing up. The blade speed on my zero-turn blows more leaves out from under the deck than it mulches. My 42" SD on my old wheel horse does a better job of chopping leaves and feeding the leaf vac. What I'm really looking for is something to quickly mulch up the misc. smaller piles that collect over the winter alongside my buildings or fence. Not looking for perfect, just better than my current options, without blowing stuff everywhere, or setting up my Cyclone Rake for small cleanups.
