clueless 3,104 #1 Posted Friday at 04:18 PM If I'm selling something at the show do I have to have a price or can I sell it for the highest offer?
kpinnc 13,428 #2 Posted Friday at 04:44 PM (edited) I guess you can put a bucket in front of it and have folks drop a price and name in it like a raffle I guess. Or you can do the auction online ahead of the show and just deliver. No clue if they've ever done an auction there or not. Handy Don 13,226 #3 Posted Friday at 04:59 PM (edited) I haven’t experienced an actual auction, but I have made offers that have been declined and left contact info in case the seller changed their mind. It has worked once or twice. There was one callback late Saturday evening when I was already two hours into my drive home--I politely declined to turn around! I always carry a pencil and notebook for jotting and tearing out pages. Edited Friday at 05:00 PM by Handy Don
953 nut 57,415 #4 Posted Friday at 06:22 PM For many of us the Big Show is about the people more than the parts and tractors for sale. Last year my truck was loaded fully and the only thing that wasn't pre purchased was a belt guard that I picked up for another member. If an item is priced too high people are not shy about letting you know. If you don't accept their offer it is unlikely that they will return to make another offer unless it is a hard to come by item. Best bet is to post it in the Big Show pre-sale thread at a fair price, most people will be willing to pay in advance and pick it up at the show. 7

If you wait for the highest offer you will probably return home with 99% of what you brought. If you want to get rid of extra un-needed items put a reasonable price on it and you will return home with 20-50% of what you brought. Many members (me included) even end up with a free pile because they don't want to haul some stuff back home.

I understand that, but I have at least one possibly two sought-after tractors that I'm bring and I know what my bottom line is. So I guess what I'm asking is can put a for sale sign on it and take the highest offer. I don't want to put it on the, what you bring to the show, post because I have to put a price on it. rmaynard 15,886 #7 Posted Friday at 08:15 PM Bring them. Hang a price tag on them. If they aren't sold by the end of the day Thursday, then you know you are asking too much. Lower the price accordingly. 5
squonk 42,256 #8 Posted Friday at 08:42 PM Like Bob said. You know your bottom line. Price them marked up with some wiggle room. Go from there. I can't speak for anyone else but if I was interested in a tractor and made an offer that I was comfortable with and it was rejected, I would walk away before getting into a bidding war. Chances are by Saturday the person or persons interested will have already spent their funds

There is no rule requiring items be priced on the 2025 Big Show Buy/Sell/Trade post' Jive it a shot and see who wants it bad enough to make an offer. that time of the year when the weather breaks and spring has sprung. We are all getting ready for the 2025 big show. We will use this thread so post our buy/sell/trade items only please.

Don't you buy most of the tractors that are still wearing "For Sale" signs by that time?
