Cost of professional painting

Recommended Posts

PWL216

Hi all! Has anyone had a set of tins, frame, parts professionally painted or powder coated recently and wouldn’t mind sharing the approximate cost? Also, how much of the body work do they do, if any? I’m thinking about having a 314 done, maybe…price is key ;)   Thx!

You'll have to remove the parts you want painted and just ask around.

On a previous resto- I painted everything but the hood, fenders, and belt guard and asked a local shop to shoot those for me. I also supplied the paint. But I know the guy in this case.

Very few shops will want such a small job. You might find someone if you ask around.

Around here, the cost for powder coating has soared in recent years. The curing chambers usually are electrically heated - be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars for that....

How about a local Tech School?

On the powder coating,  there's a couple here in Southern Maine. I have no notions of pricing but could ask.

Thx Eric. There’s a place fairly local to me. I’m going to stop in one day this week…

My 2 cents as a body shop manager: IF ( IF? )  we were willing to do it , and somebody we didn't know walked in off the street and asked us to paint a complete tractor ( tins, frame , wheels , etc ) minus the engine and rear axle , and assuming these parts are already prepped and ready to spray , you would be looking at around $1000 give or take. No body work , no post paint buffing , just the materials and labor to spray it.
