ri702bill 8,933 #1 Posted March 23 My daughter made three vinyl transfers for me at Christmas. This is the logo I wanted to surprize my FIL with on his Shop Truck, back in the 1980's - it never happened. So, I now have one on the Ranger (with his old low number license plate on it) and one on the 854.... Long overdue, reminds me of good times.... My son has the thrid one. 4

I prefer the twin I-beam years between 86 and 97, but when I pick one to build I try hard to stay out of the 98-2001.5 year range because of the problematic 4x4 vacuum hubs. I hope she'd lose some weight and I'd get some more "attention". She hoped I'd have a brain/mouth filter. We have since moved on to Resignation and Acceptance.

Gave them the quick toss a year ago fall - installed good old fashioned manual locking hubs. Agreed that the pulse vacuum hubs that worked like a clickey ball point pen did not hold up... Another popular way to deal with it is to get a set of knuckles off a 2002+, with bearings and axle shafts and just ditch the lockout altogether.

So the front axle would be engaged with the prop shaft spinning, being back driven, but not powered in 2 wd all the time?? Fuel mileage is bad enough!! Years ago, we manufactured the "poor man's locking hub" actuator for Dodge. The RH front axle shaft was solid, the LH one was 2 piece with a sliding locking collar. It broke the backdrive issue...
