Engine Shroud Starter Generator or Gear Starter?

Recommended Posts

doynger69

Hello Wheel Horse Experts, I have a Kohler K301S 12HP. , Ser. No. C68097 Spec. No. 47147B Engine Shroud. If I'm reading The S/N correctly it fits a 1967 Wheel Horse installed Kohler engine. The problem I'm having is the Shroud is made for a Gear drive starter not a starter Generator Starting System. Did any Wheel Horse Tractors have a gear drive starter in 1967? Am I reading The numbers wrong?

Thank You all in advance.

Eric in Dayton, Pa.

47147b spec was used on the 1968 Electro 12 model 1-7235. Came with Bendix starter, 10 amp alternator and magneto ignition with points and condenser.

1968 model production would have started prior to October 1967 just like new vehicles today.

No they came out mostly early 68 but some Raider 12s might have been made in very late '67 with them.
