kb65 6 #1 Posted March 15 Do any of you know of a replacement control valve that might work on my 1276. I dont think they are rebuildable. i believe the valve is worn and leaking internally. attachments leak down in a couple of minuets.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,241 #2 Posted March 15 The cylinder piston seals can also leak causing the lift to drop

kb65 6 #4 Posted March 15 I know that it can also be the cylinder but i can feel something in the valve as it is leaking down. Next plan is to plug both ports of the cylinder and see if it continues to leak. I have seen the service manual that does not apply to my cylinder and valve. I have no external leaks.
kb65 6 #5 Posted March 15 o ring would seal the ends of the valve and prevent external leaks. this leak is internal I believe after 60 years the spool valve is worn. A picture will only show the outside of the valve. I think i need a new valve. I was hopeing some one would know of a valve i could replace it with. I dont care if it is correct i just need one that works
ebinmaine 70,675 #6 Posted March 15 There may be internal Orings too. The shafts are sometimes grooved. @Handy Don @pfrederi
kb65 6 #7 Posted March 15 hyd spool valves do not use o rings internal. it is a precision fit.

ri702bill 8,955 #9 Posted March 15 Is there a fluid filter in the system?? If so, might be time to change it....
Handy Don 13,340 #10 Posted March 15 A picture will confirm what sort of valve you have for possible replacement
pfrederi 18,322 #11 Posted March 15 Control valves on Charger electros use a cup shaped ring not a pure o ring. A picture of your valve would help ID it...
daveoman1966 3,807 #13 Posted March 16 (edited) My Bronco 14 had this style of hyd control valve and I swapped it out with a control valve from a newer model C-160. (Most of the C series after 1973 use this style of control valve.) Your 4 hyd lines to the 1276 are male end size ORB-5....as are the female threads of the control valve. The C-160 style hyd control valve has ORB-6 female threads. You will need FOUR hyd hose end adapters with ORB-5 FEMALE and ORB-6 MALE threads to make the same swap-over as I did. I got my fittings mail-order from OIL-AIR Products Inc P.O.Box 41430, Plymouth,l MN..55441 NOTE---if the replacement valve you use still leaks down, there are kits available to install new o-rings. pfrederi 18,322 #16 Posted March 16 6621 any used valve is probably going to need the cup seals...
kb65 6 #17 Posted March 17 nobody with a suggestion for a replacement valve that will work. It doesn't need to be a wheel horse part. This is a work tractor not a show tractor
daveoman1966 3,807 #18 Posted March 18 This one sold on Ebay---it is from a B-100 for parts only. This is the style that COULD replace the older hyd valve you now have. To convert, you will need the ORB adapter fitting noted earlier There was ANOTHER ---just like yours---sold on Ebay...$50 bux. .
