Horse Newbie 7,185 #1 Posted March 8 Nice spring day, so I got the equipment out and ran them around the neighborhood. My brother tried out the 1994 520H, then jumped on the 2003 Cub Cadet LT 1024 for an extended trip patrolling the hood. He just recently came out of 2 extended jaunts in the hospital and is staying with me until we can find him a place. The seat therapy did us both some good and it is nice to have him back. He mowed the grass today. I trimmed and blowed. IMG_4983.mov IMG_4980.mov IMG_4982.mov IMG_4983.mov IMG_4986.mov IMG_4985.mov 3 6

JCM 9,971 #3 Posted March 8 What a difference in the climate from up North. Nothing better than an Onan in a 520 in the sweet spot, motor sounds great ! I see you have your motion control lever adjusted correctly and don't have to hold it in position. Nice tractors & videos. Well done my friend. 3
Horse Newbie 7,185 #4 Posted March 9 (edited) Yes @JCM, it seems to hold in position wherever I place it across the range of motion. I cleaned the cam plate and associated washers and such on the top of the transaxle ( I guess that’s what you call it on a hydro?) as guided by Redsquare members. Put the hardware back in place with no lube and adjusted the tension as best I could… seems right like you said… I have not been hanging around this excellent forum as much as I would like, but my brother has needed me quite a bit in the last 4-6 months. Plus my better half Libby has been in WV for a month with her mom who is needing her right now. My brother had a living arrangement with his landlord and when my brother “was of no more use to him”’ he asked him to move on short notice. That meant we had to make things happen quick. No lease, but I did not want to force the landlord to go through an eviction through the courts. i did not post this topic looking for sympathy as I can easily see how the Good Lord continues to bless me and my family. Just wanted to post some seat time videos after the winter slow down. I do appreciate that you “ horse enthusiasts “ take the time to notice my posts and comment when you enjoy them. JCM 9,971 #5 Posted March 9 I need to do what you did to get the motion control to hold like that, nice job. That's what happens when you have too many WH's to maintain like I do and the reason I've sold 2 so far. Hang in there my friend.

Horse Newbie 7,185 #7 Posted March 10 Don’t know how I made that last comment of mine post again… technology, ugh ! I know this may sound like blasphemy around here, but I don’t actively “ look” for my next horse. My first, the 520H, a lady just wanted it out of her yard(husband had passed). My second one is a Workhorse that was free ( needed a fuel pump) and needed a lot of love. I sort of let them come to me on their own time because of the fact that I have limited time to play with and maintain them, and too many other projects. The last one I acquired, (suggested I look at by a Redsquare member) was a 1975 C-160, which I am glad I have. But, I’ve had it probably 4 years or better, partly disassembled it, and have not put it back together yet.

You have plenty going on, and the most important thing with the tractor at least is that you saved it. And having seen it myself, it is a very nice machine indeed! It will be waiting when you get caught up. You take care of business and then you can tinker on the old C160. Best of luck getting your brother settled. Family always comes first! 1
